This laboratory is dedicated to practical and experimental training activities and to the teaching of principal cytological and immunohistochemical techniques in the field of cell biology. The principal activities involve the preparation of permanent specimens through paraffin embedding, sectioning, staining, and microscopic observation.
The laboratory is equipped with: 8 wall-mounted chemical fume hoods (UNICA120); tissue embedding centre with paraffin dispensing module BEC150 and cooling plate (Bio-Optica); natural convection oven TCN 30 PLUS (Argolab); rotary microtome (pfm Rotary 3004M, Bio-Optica); water bath for section spreading (Bio-Optica).
