This laboratory is dedicated to the teaching of principal experimental techniques in biochemistry and pharmaceutical biotechnology, including both analytical and extractive chemical procedures. The principal activities include: preparation of buffers for protein extraction from biological samples; evaluation of enzymatic activity; preparation of plant extracts.
The laboratory is equipped with: 8 wall-mounted chemical fume hoods (UNICA120); 50 individual workstations for chemical synthesis and analysis; UV-VIS spectrophotometer (Shimadzu UV-1280); digital bench-top pH meter (pH50, VioLab); rotary evaporator; Soxhlet extractors; magnetic stirrers with heating (M2A, Argolab).
