This laboratory is dedicated to practical and experimental training activities and to the teaching of principal techniques in cell and molecular biology, including cell culture and manipulation under sterile conditions, protein extraction and analysis from diverse biological samples, and the study of gene and protein expression.
The principal teaching activities include: amplification and isolation of cell populations; cell counting, staining, and identification; preparation of immunohistochemical and immunofluorescence slides; cell viability and adhesion assays; nucleic acid and protein expression pattern analysis; real-time gene amplification.
The laboratory is equipped with: laminar flow cabinet (HeraSafe 2030i, Thermo Scientific); chemical fume hood (RX Smart Bicasa); CO2 incubator with hot-air sterilisation (CBS170IR Haier); inverted optical microscope (VisiScope® IT415 PH, Avantor); Cell Counter (Corning); automatic pipetting devices (Pipette Filler Digital, Falcon); horizontal (Wide Mini-Sub Cell GT, Bio-Rad) and vertical (Mini-Protean Tetra Cell 4 System, Bio-Rad) electrophoresis systems with power supply (PowerPac Basic, Bio-Rad); visible, UV, and chemiluminescence imaging system (iBright CL750 Imaging System, Thermo Fisher Scientific); Real-Time PCR system (AriaMx Real-Time PCR System, Agilent).
